GoWell-Child Visits
Regular checkups are important for your child’s physical, emotional, and social health and development. Well-child visits can help prevent problems, track growth and development and allow you to bring up any concerns you may have. Well-child visits are for children aged from birth to 21 years old.
At a well-child visit, your primary care provider will:
- Perform a physical exam.
- Administer any necessary immunizations.
- Track your child’s growth and ask about development and behavior.
- Visit with you about illness prevention, nutrition, and physical fitness.
Adult Preventative Visits
An adult preventive visit is a yearly appointment intended to prevent illnesses and detect health concerns early before symptoms are noticeable. During your appointment, you’ll review your overall health and well-being and be able to discuss any concerns with your primary care provider.
Medicare Annual Wellness Visits
As part of your Medicare coverage, you are entitled to a free annual wellness visit once every year. This visit is a chance to work with your primary care provider to develop a personalized prevention plan and take full advantage of preventive care benefits that are covered at 100 percent. It provides a snapshot of your current health as a baseline for future yearly visits, and is intended as a preventive service to catch potentially serious health issues early.
